Clocking in at 11:14 at the 2021 American Outdoor Track Championships, Tristan Evelyn not only set a new Barbados National Record in the women’s 100m, but she also qualified for the Tokyo Olympics. This time all set an AAC women’s 100-meter record.

Tristan has become the first Bajan athlete to qualify for Tokyo this year following in the footsteps of Jade Bailey who competed in the 100 and 200 meter in the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

Tristan celebrated by sharing on Instagram; “They never said it would be easy but it’s sure as hell worth it! Moral of my story? NEVER GIVE UP & ALWAYS BELIEVE IN GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOU.

Tristan currently represents the University of Houston where she runs the 100, 200, and is also on the 4X100 relay team.
